HIGHLIGHT
7:00 AM - 7:30 AM: Pick you up at your hotel in Da Nang to go to Hoi An.
8:30 AM: The guide will take you from your hotel, and then you will go by bike to the Kim Bong carpentry village. You will listen to a presentation on the village's history and activities, visit the shipbuilding workshop, Mr. Huynh Ri's wood carvings - a traditional occupation of the family, Can Phuc's mosaic, and other workshops.
9:30 AM: You will see how traditional wooden boats, used for river transportation, are made. You can also try the famous basket boats at Mr. Kha's workshop, which have been in existence for more than 85 years and are made from bamboo and palm trees.
10:30 AM: Continue riding to Tra Nhieu village, situated amidst the Thu Bon River. Here, you will learn about the village's history and activities related to the war. The fishermen prepare their nets and boats for a long trip of 2-3 weeks at sea. You will also get to experience island hopping through unique bridges made of wood or bamboo. As you follow the path along the river, you will encounter coconut water, fishing nets, and various wild birds. Enjoy a pleasant walk on a serene bamboo bridge amidst the coconut forest. Then, visit a traditional mat-making craft.
11:30 AM: Return to the dock where you will board a boat with the local residents and cycle to Van Lang fisherman village and Bay Mau coconut water forest - an area of about 7 hectares, surrounded by mangrove forests, canals, and houses covered by coconut leaves. This place once served as a refuge for people and local soldiers during the Vietnam War and is now known for its abundant seafood supply.
12:30 PM: Arrive at Mr. Han's home - a three-generation family - where you will be warmly welcomed with green tea and have the chance to stroll through the village. Local fishermen will take you on a tour to discover their traditional fishing techniques in the coconut forest using a basket boat.
1:30 PM: Return to the family for a lunch preparation session together. You will learn to prepare dishes such as crispy pancakes, Hoi An Nem, and more. You will also get to taste the dishes you prepared.
3:00 PM: After lunch, enjoy a relaxing foot massage with medicinal herbs, a traditional therapeutic practice, and then take a short rest before returning to your hotel at 16h00.
