Itinerary
Take the one-day trip to My Son and Hoi An Ancient Town Tour if you have an interest in architecture and ancient cultures.
My Son Sanctuary is located in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province, around 45 kilometers southwest of Hoi An and 20 kilometers from Tra Kieu ancient capital. Between the 4th and 13th centuries, My Son was the spiritual and cultural center of the Champa kingdom. This is an architectural ensemble with one-of-a-kind tower temples and other exquisite stone sculptures set in the midst of a tropical jungle. In 1999, it was recognized and certified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Architecture and ancient culture enthusiasts will not be disappointed by a day trip to the My Son Sanctuary.
Hoi An Old Town on the banks of the poets’ inspiration Thu Bon River, primarily attracting visitors with a series of old architectural alleyways and homes. From the 15th to the 20th century, the old town was an exclusive trading port for European and Asian businessmen. It has retained its unique charm, which can be found on every street corner. Hoi An has an antique grace with features found nowhere else.
MY SON AND HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN TOUR – PRIVATE TOUR
In the morning:
8:00 am: Our private car and tour guide will pick you up from the lobby of your Hoi An hotel and take you to My Son Sanctuary.
9:00 am – 9:15 am: Arrive in My Son Sanctuary, a massive holy complex with over 70 towers and temples of various architectural styles. With our tour guide, you can spend a couple of hours learning about Cham’s cultures, architecture, and history.
You will visit the My Son Museum, which is also near the My Son Temples, to learn more about the Kingdom of Cham and the Champa people. The museum’s relics and monuments will educate you more about Champa’s past kings, their people’s lives, and how important religion is to them.
You will be able to watch the rite and the traditional dance performance, which has been revived by the local administration, between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.
In the afternoon:
12:30 pm: Take a little break after lunch at a restaurant in Hoi An Old Town.
2:00 pm: Begin walking around the ancient town of Hoi An. Our guide will take you to several well-known locations such as the Japanese Bridge, Assembly Hall, and the Old House.
Stop at the Japanese Covered Bridge. The bridge, which spans a small rive, was built about 400 years ago. It linked the Japanese and Chinese communities on the other side of the river. Admire the bridge’s carvings and paintings while learning about its symbolism and cultural value.
Visit the Phuc Kien Chinese Assembly Hall, a brightly colored jumble of gates, dragon statues, and intricate roofing. Learn about ancestor worship by visiting the family altar and observing local devotees make offerings.
There are wonderfully well-preserved old houses that have survived 200 years of weather and war. Learn about the affluent merchants who lived in these houses and traded with buyers from all over the world.
